Main Responsibility
Production
- Ensure team compliance with all safety procedures and safe systems of work
- Ensure product quality is maintained, reacting to any change in process, and follow up on non-conformance
- Focus on production output during shift
- React to and prevent spoilage, implementing appropriate corrective actions where required
- Set and maintain a high standard of housekeeping
- Lead improvement activities
- Communicate across the department in relation to the above processes by ensuring logbooks are completed and liaising with other shift Team Leaders to ensure effective communication across the department
- Control autonomous maintenance activities
- Ensure effective shift handovers are conducted by all team members
- Participate in the development of the team
- Utilise available resources across the department
Reporting
- Review and sign-off logbooks, action issues as appropriate
- Assist with breakdown analysis, corrective action reports and complaint investigations

- Show commitment to team working.
- Show commitment to housekeeping, participating fully in audits, and setting and delivering high personal standards
- Provide cover for the Shift Manager during holiday periods and other absence
The Ideal Candidate
You’ll be a confident leader with a strong operational mindset and a passion for safety, quality, and team development. You’ll thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable taking ownership of performance and decision-making on shift.
Hands-on experience in can-making is also required, as this is a practical leadership role with direct involvement on the production line.
A Level 3 Apprenticeship (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Maintenance is essential. Previous experience leading or developing a team within a manufacturing environment will be highly beneficial.

Working Pattern – Shift-based, site-based role (4 on 4 off)
Salary – £62,395 (inclusive of £5,306 shift allowance)
Start Date – ASAP
