Works independently and can co-ordinate and plan projects under general guidance. Applies initiative, innovation, and creativity in solving day-to-day technical and research challenges.

The Research, Development and Engineering Centre in Wantage. Is the focal point for our innovation initiatives. The team works in harmony with all the Company’s Business Units to develop added-value technologies and provide unparalleled support to customers and our global operations.
Main Responsibility
- Use CAD (SolidWorks) to design metal packaging components, tools, and machine parts.
- Organising, scheduling and safe execution of project work in CT’s facilities
- Undertaking prototype equipment and tooling set-up to deliver samples
- Conducting product testing, and proving product and process specification changes
- Evaluation and proving of new product specifications.
- Generation of product manufacturing standards and specifications.
- Transfer technology into the manufacturing plants, preparing the necessary documentation, providing commissioning support and demonstrating capability against dimensional and performance requirements.
- Provide a problem-solving resource to the operations and helping resolve manufacturing issues.
The Ideal Candidate
Required Experience
- Degree in Mechanical engineering or equivalent subject or HNC equivalent (OR) Several years relevant experience in a similar role
- A strong mechanical design ability with CAD experience.
- Ability to perform hands on tooling and machine set-up
- Problem solving
- Ability to drive and manage project work
Desirable Experience
- Experience within Manufacturing environment
- A second language
Package Description
Location: Wantage OX12 9BP
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Working hours: Monday to Friday : (9:00 – 17:00)
